College of the Rockies Courses

Some of the key UNDERGRADUATE programs :-

  • Business (1-year Certificate; 2-year Diploma; 4-year Bachelors – BBA in Sustainable Business Practices)
  • Tourism and Recreation Management (1-year Certificate; 2-year Diploma; also transfers to Hospitality and Hotel Mgmt programs)
  • General University Transfer (Arts and Science, including Environmental Sciences)
  • Kinesiology
  • Practical Nursing (2 years, plus one ‘pre-PNP’ semester to complete admission requirements). MORE info about PNP below.
  • Automotive Service Technician

POST-GRADUATE:

Applicants who already have a Bachelors or Masters degree should consider our Graduate Certificate (1-year) in Global Studies (GLST).

Also, as we discussed, some of the SPP challenges we have faced around Study Permits being denied are because of:

1. An education direction or pathway that does not seem reasonable to the immigration officials (i.e., Why is a nurse in India with a Bachelors in Nursing applying for a 2-yr undergrad program in Canada such as Kinesiology? We have had several of these cases rejected.).

2. Students have been out of school for too long. Applicants should be less than 5 years out of their previous studies.

PRACTICAL NURSING Program (PNP)

For the first time we are able to offer International Students entry to our Practical Nursing Program (PNP). This is a 2-year (4-semester) program and international students will also be required to take one pre-PNP semester to ensure they will meet the PNP admission requirements before being accepted into the program starting in the Fall (September). Only 5 seats will be held/guaranteed for international students will for PNP in Fall 2013. Students are currently being accepted to apply for their pre-PNP semester of academic and non-academic requirements starting in April 2013. (*Note – the PPNP 101 course runs from Apr 8 – Jun 28, 2013 and students must have completed Grade 12 Biology (or equivalent) with a minimum grade of ‘C’ within the past five years.) The full PNP admission requirements can be found here: http://cotr.bc.ca/PracticalNurse/cotr_web.asp?IDNumber=155
