 About Calgary

As Canada’s fourth largest city, Calgary has a diverse, multicultural population of just over one million and is considered to be one of Canada’s most livable cities. SAIT four-season climate makes Calgary a perfect place to combine study with cultural exploration and recreational activities. Calgary is home to two professional sport teams — the Calgary Flames (hockey) and Calgary Stampeders (American football) as well as several amateur teams. Each July, Calgary celebrates western heritage by hosting the Calgary Stampede — the world famous rodeo and outdoor show.

The International Centre is located in Heritage Hall, MA206. SAIT offer services and programs to help international students settle into life at SAIT and provide them with opportunities to become involved in campus life, make new friends and to learn about Canada.

Accommodation (per month)

Scholarships and Awards

  • Academic awards available for 2nd year students $200-$2000
  • Athletic scholarships available for basketball, hockey, soccer, track and volleyball

Study Permit and Arrival

  • Apply for a study permit as soon as possible after receiving the LOA
  • Contact international@sait.ca if the student would like airport pick-up $70 (advanced notice required)
  • Keep us informed of the study permit application status; inform us if a study permit is refused or if it will not be issued in time to begin studies
