NMIT now has opened a new campus in Auckland – Global Campus Auckland with few programs to start.

The next intake for Auckland will be July 20th 2015. At this stage the programmes on offer are as below:

  • Diploma in Commerce (Level 6)
  • Graduate Diploma in Management (Level 7)
  • Graduate Diploma in Information Technology (Level 7)
  • B.Com (To be confirmed)

The fees are same and the New Cookery program will only run at Nelson campus at present.

English Language Requirements & Waiver Policy

NMIT uses NZQA’s guidelines to accept students onto their programmes.

Students can provide one of the following internationally recognised English Proficiencies Tests to demonstrate their English level:

  • IELTS (Academic)
  • TOEFL Paper based test (pbt)
  • TOEFL Internet based test (iBT)
  • University of Cambridge ESOL Examinations
  • New Zealand Certificates in English Language
  • Pearson Test of English (Academic)
  • City and Cuilds IESOL

or, students can provide:

  • An English Medium Letter confirming completion of at least five years secondary school using English as the language of instruction; or
  • Evidence of completion of a tertiary education of at least three years’ duration using face-to-face delivery and English as the language of instruction in New Zealand, Australia, Canada, the Republic of Ireland, South Africa, the United Kingdom or the United States.

In regards to the English Medium requirement, NMIT has put additional criteria in place when assessing applications, the criteria is as follows:

English Medium Letter
For Non Degree Entry:  Students who completed Secondary School within two years, Further Study and/or Work ExperienceApplicants are not required to complete further study (ie certificate/diploma/degree/post grad) to gain entry into non degree programmes.

  • English Medium Letter confirming completion of at least five years secondary school using English as the language of instruction with an average of Year 10 and Year 12 English Grades that is 60% and over and/or
  • Letter from Education Provider/agent confirming completion of further study using English as the language of instruction and/or
  • Letter from Employer/agent confirming workplace uses English as the language of instruction
For Graduate Diploma/Degree Entry:  Students who completed Secondary School within five years, Further Study and/or Work Experience

  • English Medium Letter confirming completion of at least five years secondary school using English as the language of instruction with an average of Year 10 and Year 12 English Grades that is 60% and over and/or
  • Letter from Education Provider/agent confirming completion of further study using English as the language of instruction or the Degree and/or Post Grad/Masters has English Course grade of 60% and over and/or
  • Letter from Employer/agent confirming workplace uses English as the language of instruction

 Note:  Degree, Post Grad or Masters must be First or Second Division

    I got band score 6 in ielts with not less than 5.5 individual.
    i got offer letter from nmit for b.com. All my other papers are ready to apply for visa exept one
    my intake is nov 30th.
    shall i get visa if i applied late?

Hows the chances to get a part time job during studies to support daily needs? Please do reply. Thanks in advance

      There are no courses in NMIT at post graduate level for IT but there are other colleges who provides the same. We need to know your educational qualification in detail before suggesting you the course.

    i passed out my marticulation and 12th with 57% and 73.7%..i took IELTS exam and got 5.5 bands.but in one module is 4.5..so can i apply for cookery level 4 an 5?

    I complete my 10th and 12th(non medical) from english medium.In 12th i get 50% in english and overall i get 56% in 12th.So iam able to apply or not for diploma in IT without ielts .

      You will need IELTS which is not only required by colleges but also is prerequisite for visa.
