Application fee: $150. The fee is non-refundable and due together with the student’s application.

Entrance examination fee: $350.

Admission Requirements for Medical and Health Science Program

Deadline for February intake – 30th November

An entrance examination is compulsory for students applying to the following programs: Entrance exam test: 350 USD

  • Basic Medicine Course
  • Medicine
  • Dentistry
  • Pharmacy

The exam consists of two parts:

1. Written tests (multiple-choice questions, definitions, calculations, etc.) in:

– Biology

– Chemistry/Physics: if the student’s chosen subject is Chemistry, essentially the test will contain questions from Chemistry, and they have to answer only a few basic level Physics questions, and vice versa.

Each test takes 30 minutes.

2. Oral exam from Biology and Physics / Chemistry.

An entrance interview is compulsory in case of the following 6 programs:

  • BSc in Physiotherapy
  • BSc in Public Health
  • MSc in Public Health
  • MSc in Molecular Biology
  • MSc in Complex Rehabilitation
  • MSc in Health Social Work

Admission Requirements for Non-medical Programs

Deadline for February intake – 15th November

For the non-medical programs of the University of Debrecen, the entrance exam is English and the professional subjects depending on the program they are applying for.


Admissions Requirements – Masters Program

Deadline for February intake – 15th November & for Phd applications – 31st October

Applicants with a Bachelor/Master degree there is possibility of admission with full or partial exemption from the entrance examination on the basis of the certificates and/or other documents submitted. In such cases, an obligatory interview is still conducted prior to registration.

  • Academic transcripts and detailed course descriptions of previous studies. Proof of English language proficiency
  • Passport copy
  • Detailed CV for Masters Program (Non medical program) & PhD programs or Short CV for all other programs.
  • Medical certificate of general health status
  • Application fee of 150 USD
  • Examination/Entrance fee of 350 USD

For Phd Applications

2 recommendation letters from previous professors

Proposal for a research topic chosen from the ones offered by the doctoral school, or a new topic with detailed description.

Procedure after Admission:

Once student receives the Letter of Acceptance they need to pay the total amount of the specified tuition fee in offer as an advance. These amounts must be paid within two weeks after receiving the Letter of Acceptance. The total amount of the tuition fee is refundable only in the case of rejected visa application. The first year’s tuition fee is payable in one amount, further fees may be paid by semesters.

    I finished 10+2 . I scored 90 % . I want to pursuit medicine . I had physics, chemistry , maths and biology . Do I need to take foundation course ? When is the application for regular medicine course will start ? Do you conduct any kind of exam ?

    I’ll graduate high-school(Class XII) this year with Maths, Physics and Chemistry. I didn’t take Biology in my high-school. But I wanna become a doctor now. Can I get admitted to Basic Sciences course (Pre-Medical) and later get admitted into the 6-year Medicine program?

      please send your detailed profile mentioning percentile from 10th upto most recent education, course are you looking to apply for etc as without this information which we are unable to guide you on study visa.
