James Cook University Singapore Campus Transfer

Please find the campus transfer details below.

Student’s campus transfer is available after 4 months (after a semester completion). Normally all the student are enrolled at our Main Campus, this means Students could transfer upon semester completion. To take a transfer they have to fulfill the below requirements:

  • Clear First semester
  • Attendance should be 90% in the first semester

The campus transfer details will be there in the offer letter itself so it will be self explanatory.

Campus transfer visa process will take from 2 weeks to 4 weeks, depends upon the time taken for Letter of Offer & Student Contract. The whole process will take one month (offer might take 2 to 3 weeks where as visa comes in 1 week)

Student Service department in Singapore Campus will be assisting all the transfer students. They will advice the students on the documents required and will advice them accordingly.

The transfer will happen in Singapore itself so there is no need to come back to India.

James Cook University (JCU) Singapore has some advantages since they have their main campus in Australia. Students can use Singapore as a pathway to move to Australia and stay there.

But to do that, students have 2 choices –

  1. UG students in Singapore complete degree in 2 years (6 semesters) whereas the same degree in Australian campus is 3 years. Student must transfer after 1 year from Singapore (3 semesters) and do the remaining 3 semesters in Australia. James Cook University (JCU) Australia will give them a 2 year offer letter so that they qualify for stay back visa in Australia. Out of 3 semesters in Australia, student will pay for 2 semesters in Singapore Dollars and has to pay only for last 6th semester in Australian Dollar to earn a final Australian degree and get PSW visa.
  2. MBA students in Singapore will have to transfer to Australia after 1st semester so that they have to study at least 3 semesters in Australia. Again, James Cook University (JCU) Australia will give them a 2 year offer letter so that they qualify for stay back visa in Australia. Out of 3 semesters in Australia, student will pay for 2 semesters in Singapore Dollars and has to pay only for last 6th semester in Australian Dollar to earn a final Australian degree and get PSW visa.

For the PSW the student is suppose to be in the country for two years. Which is very much possible for UG students as the course is for 6 semesters and after two semesters also if the student takes transfer he will be left with two years programme in Australia.

But for PG courses student is left with approx 12 months course in Australia (in campus transfer) which he can make it two years with the joint programme (MBA + MPA) or MBA + MIT.

This way the student can move to Australia at a lesser cost and still get the same stay back advantage. But student will need to meet IELTS requirement for Australia if they have not done so for Singapore. And they will need to apply for Australian Student Visa in Singapore for which the university will help.

Kindly check the program requirement at University page you wish to apply. To get successful Visa it is equally important to get successful admit in the University; For which you must fulfill all admission requirements first.
