The University has around 400 Indian students enrolled every year. A truly international University, Cardiff Metropolitan University was voted top in the UK for international student satisfaction for four years a row (International Student Barometer 2010-2013).

Over the last few years considerable investment has been made across the whole of the University, with a further £50 million of planned investments that include: the £21 million state-of-the-art Management building; a new learning centre and student centre, a brand new School of Art and Design and the innovative i-zone.

The School of Management

The Cardiff School of Management (CSM) offers a wide range of courses carefully designed to provide students with what employer’s prize: the ability to think independently and utilize skills to make the right things happen. Some of the programmes are unique within Wales, while others are among the very best in the UK. Cardiff School is proud that 4,500 students, including many on the highly-prized MBA and MSc programmes, have chosen to study for a Cardiff Metropolitan University degree.

The School is actively engaged in applied research and consultancy and through this work has built strong links with commercial and governmental organisations in the UK and worldwide. These links are of direct benefit to all CSM students as they feed into all courses, making them highly vocational and practical in nature. Many programmes in the School of Management include what is called the ‘Work Based Learning Module’ under which students are guaranteed a period of work experience. Students will also benefit from state-of-the-art facilities as the School of Management moved to a new £21 million building in 2010.

The School Of Health Science

Located on Llandaff Campus, the Cardiff School of Health Sciences is made up of 9 areas and covers a wide portfolio of courses in the Health Sciences and Social Care areas, with a number of the programmes being unique within Wales. The School is research active, has a wide range of on-going enterprise activities and professionally accredited programmes which provide excellent career opportunities. The programmes are accredited by bodies such as the General Dental Council, Chartered Institute of Environmental Health, British Psychological Society, Health Professional Council, Institute of Food Science and Technology and many more! Placements are also integral to most of the degrees with clinics being run on site in a number of areas and some degrees run ‘mock’ and ‘real’ courtroom practice where relevant.

The School of Sport

Throughout its sixty year history the Cardiff School of Sport has built an international reputation for the quality of its academic, professional, research and extra-curricular work. The School provides some of the most popular and contemporary undergraduate and postgraduate sport degree courses in the UK and, as an internationally famous sports University, Cardiff Metropolitan University attracts high calibre athletes and leisure professionals from all over the world. During the London 2012 Olympics, Cardiff Metropolitan University had a number of past and present students competing for medals- former student, Helen Glover, won Great Britain’s first gold medal of the Games as part of the women’s pair.

The School of Art and Design

At the Cardiff School of Art and Design have designed the courses in a way that makes it possible for you to make them fit with your ambitions and to generate subject expertise and choice. Students will study on a program with a group of students who have been carefully selected for their enthusiasm and ability. Each program has been carefully designed to offer a balance of taught workshops, practical sessions, lectures and time for self-directed research time which students can really shape their own expertise. The Cardiff School of Art & Design care about all of the community and so offer excellent support structures and activities for students and you will have your own personal tutor to steer you through your studies. The School of Art will be moving to a brand new £14 million building in September 2014.

Cardiff Metropolitan University ‘s School of Education has over 2000 students supported by over 100 academic and administrative staff.

In 2001 the School of Education celebrated 50 years of Initial Teacher Education Training (ITET) provision in Cardiff and it remains the largest in Wales and one of the largest centres for ITET in the United Kingdom. It has established an enviable reputation for the quality of its provision that has been publicly recognised by Estyn through its inspection process.

Both the Department of Humanities and Department of Professional Development have excellent recruitment figures and their programmes have an increasing national and international reputation for excellence.

Employability and Careers

All the University schools specialize in courses that are career orientated and have been designed in conjunction with business and industry. Through work placement programmers, professional accreditations and opportunities to study abroad, the University focus on employability has ensured that 94​% of our graduates enter employment or further study within six months of graduation.*
