merit-based scholarships are briefly introduced below:

  • Lord Mayor of London Scholarship for Academic Excellence: Up to £3,000 per year for UK/EU students studying for ‘A’ levels, IB or BTEC with grades between AAA-BBB.
  • Vice-Chancellor’s International Scholarship: Up to £2,000 per year for non UK/EU students with ‘A’ levels, IB or BTEC and with grades between AAA-BBB.
  • Cass Business School Scholarship: £2,000 per year for Cass overseas students who achieve exceptional grades in international qualifications.

Entry requirements

Entry requirements at City University London will vary from course to course and all decisions on admission are made on an individual basis, so the following entry requirements are only a guide.

(a) Undergraduate Programmes

Applications will be accepted if an applicant has:

  • Taken either of the national boards (CBSE/CISCE) or a state board
  • An overall average of 75%-80%, some courses will ask for 80% in every paper
  • English language qualification (see below).

(b) Postgraduate Programmes

Applicants will be considered for postgraduate courses with a bachelor degree from India from a central university or a recognised state university. City University London expects applicants to obtain a first class degree. All applicants will need to prove their English ability.

The MBA is a mid-career qualification which is not open to fresh graduates. Applicants must have a first class degree, a minimum of three years work experience and a GMAT score of 600 or above.

English Requirements

All students from India will need to take a recognised English qualification recognised by UKBA for visa purposes, it is not possible to accept English grades in Year XII as proof of English.

(a) Undergraduate

  • IELTS 6.0 or TOEFL 79 is required (IELTS 6.5 or TOEFL 100 for business and IELTS 7.0 for journalism and law courses).
  • PTE is accepted on a case-by-case basis.

(b)  Postgraduate

  • IELTS 6.5 or TOEFL 100 is required (IELTS 7.0 or TOEFL 107 for business, journalism and law courses).
  • PTE is accepted on a case-by-case basis.
