Edge Hill Scholarship

Scholarships

Edge Hill University has a range of scholarships on offer to international students. All full fee-paying international students applying for a course lasting at least one academic year will be considered for the award of a scholarship. By applying for a course, an application for a scholarship will automatically be made, with one of the following scholarships awarded once criteria are met:

International Foundation Scholarship – £1,200 towards your tuition fees for September 2015. Students who then progress onto a 3 or 4 year Under graudate Degree in September 2016 from our International Foundation Programme will also be eligible for a £3,975 scholarship towards the first year of their Undergraduate Tuition fees.

Undergraduate Development Scholarship- £1,200 towards your first year tuition fees for international students undertaking their undergraduate/bachelor studies at Edge Hill.

Edge Hill Scholarships

Pre-Masters onto Masters Degree Special Financial Package – £2,000 fee scholarship will be awarded towards the cost of the Pre-Masters programme. On successful completion of the Pre-Masters programme, students can progress to a Masters degree, where a £3,800 fee scholarship will be applied.

Postgraduate Excellence Scholarship- £3,800 towards your tuition fees for a Postgraduate or MBA degree for students who show academic excellence in their previous studies.

Other Scholarships – For students who are already studying at Edge Hill, there is also a scholarships available:

International Achievement Scholarship-Worth £2,000, this is for students who display exceptional academic performance (average mark no less than 70%). Awards will be made towards tuition fees in the next year of study, as long as tuition and accommodation fees have been paid in full. These scholarships will be confirmed after the Assessment Board.

As an international student, you are guaranteed a place in halls providing you apply before 1st August 2014, however, we are not able to guarantee that all students will be offered a room in their first choice hall.

A 5% discount is available if you pay for the whole fixed term in full before you move in.

Although you can extend the contract, we cannot guarantee you will have the same room for the remainder of your course and at the same costs.

Living costs 2014/15(estimated):

For general living costs and for things such as books, food, clothing and transport, it is very difficult to give an exact figure, but we recommend that you budget approximately £7,400 – £8,000 per year for all living expenses, including accommodation. This is, however, just a guide and your living cost will depend on your lifestyle and spending habits! A realistic budget per year might be:

  •  Students are required to have completed a Bachelor degree with a minimum result of Lower Second Division or equivalent.

English Language requirements:

Candidates must also achieve the University’s English language requirements.

Undergraduate:
• Achieve at least IELTS 6.0 with no component below 5.5
• GCSE English grade C
• WAEC – 6

Postgraduate Taught – IELTS 6.5
Postgraduate Research – IELTS 7.0

  • Pre-sessional English Language tuition is available for those applicants whose scores in English Language fall slightly below those which are normally expected for entry.
