If students pay by bank transfer it is important to ask the bank to quote their university student reference number, family name and date of birth on the transfer document. Students can find their student reference number on their offer letter. Banks may charge for making the transfer and for currency conversion.

Refund Procedure

If the student is refused a visa, he/she will be entitled to the refund of their deposit and/or any course fees.

The finance office at Sheffield Hallam University will initiate a request for a refund within seven working days of receiving evidence of visa refusal. The speed of the refund will depend on the payment method used by the student.

Refunds will normally be made by cheque made payable to the applicant. The University will send cheques to the student’s address in their home country, or to their agent. It is not possible for cheques to be collected from the University or sent to other addresses.
