Admission Requirements

University of Chester will waive off IELTS Score for Indian students who have scored 65% & above in their Standard XII English.

How to apply:

All International students are required to complete the attached application form along with the following accompanying documents:

  • All academic certificates and transcripts
  • Evidence of English Language proficiency
  • Academic Reference (signed and on letter headed paper)
  • Statement of Purpose
  • Passport copy
  • All previous UK visas & CAS letters (if applicable)
  • Work Experience Letters (if applicable)

English Language Requirements at University Of Chester:

Postgraduate Study

  • IELTS 6.5 (with no less than 5.5 in any band)
  • PTE Academic with overall score of 63 and no less than 51 in any component
  • ISE Pass in all 4 components

Undergraduate Study

  • IELTS 6.0 (with no less than 5.5 in any band)
  • PTE Academic with overall score of 57 and no less than 51 in any component
  • ISE Pass in all 4 components

Entry Criteria:

Post Graduate Courses (MSc, MA and MBA)

  • 3 years Bachelor degree with 55% or above with 2 years work experience for MBA
  • 4 years Bachelor degree with 50% or above with 2 years work experience for MBA
  • Students with less than 2years work experience are considered for MBA with Professional Accelerator(16 months) and require 60% or above in 3 years / 55% or above in 4 years Bachelor degree

Undergraduate Courses:

  • Minimum 60% overall in 12th standard (state or central board)  or 3 years pre university diploma

Senior Secondary School Certificate/Higher Secondary School Certificate awarded on completion of Standard XII with an overall grade of 60% or above (if a specific subject is required 60% in this subject area is needed) Year 1/Level 4 entry. Bachelor degree with 55% or above OR Bachelor Degree in Engineering with 50% or above for postgraduate taught programmes
Bachelor degree with 55% or above with 2 years work experience for MBA (students with less than 2 years will be considered for MBA with Orientation and require 60% or above in their Bachelor Degree)
Bachelor Degree in Engineering with 50% or above with 2 years work experience for MBA (students with less than 2 years will be considered for MBA with Orientation and require 55% or above in their Bachelor Degree)

Please note that these are general entry requirements. However, please note that for some courses, for instance: Nursing, PGCE, Art Therapy, Marketing Communications and PR, the English language proficiency requirements may differ from the ones mentioned above.
