The University of Leicester’s has introduced a new deposit scheme for all lab-based Master’s programmes within the College of Medicine, Biological Sciences and Psychology.

Programmes which may require students to pay a deposit are:

  • Applied Health Research MRes
  • Bioinformatics MSc
  • Bioinformatics and Molecular Genetics MSc
  • Cancer Cell and Molecular Biology MSc
  • Chronic Disease and Immunity MSc
  • Diabetes MSc/PGDip/PGCert (campus-based)
  • Infection and Immunity MSc
  • Medical Statistics MSc
  • Molecular Genetics MSc
  • Molecular Pathology and Therapeutics of Cancer MSc
  • Post Mortem Radiology for Natural and Unnatural Death Investigation MSc/PGDip/PGCert
  • Psychological Research Methods MSc
  • Quality and Safety in Healthcare MSc/PGDip/PGCert

If an applicant to one of these programmes is self-funded then they will need to pay a deposit of £1,500 within four weeks of accepting their offer. The deposit will be subtracted from their first tuition fee installment.

Applicants will not need to pay a deposit if they can provide evidence that they are:

  • Applying for a postgraduate tuition fee loan from the UK Government
  • Applying for another loan to cover the cost of tuition fee
  • Applying for a scholarship of at least 50% of the course fee
  • Receiving sponsorship

These Master’s courses will offer:

  • A paid industrial placement of between three and nine months
  • Dedicated professional assistance to secure placements for our students
  • An ideal experience and opportunity to gain employment after graduation
  • An opportunity to learn the latest analytical, design and computing skills
  • The opportunity to develop creativity and problem solving skills working on Industry related projects

    Hello,
    Would like to have some information for my son., about the requirements for undergraduates students.
    he is in year 13 and preparing the IB for 2014.
    Please provide requirements for SAT and TOEFL.

      University of Leicester admits students on the basis of IB scores. If students have not studies from an English speaking country, it is advisable to appear for IELTS or TOEFL. SAT is not required. You will get detailed entry criteria at — http://www2.le.ac.uk/study/english
