University Of Salford Courses
University Of Salford is very pleased to unveil a new BSc (Hons) programme in Architecture! The course is designed to meet the requirements of the Architects Registration Board Prescription of qualifications: ARB criteria for Part 1 and the QAA benchmark statement. The BSc (Hons) in Architecture provides the first stage in the seven-year education of an architect. University Of Salford is offering only the equivalent of RIBA part 1 for the moment but we will be seeking to develop part 2 and part 3 in the coming years. The course will be placed in University Of Salford listed building (Peel building, with dedicated studio teaching space. The workshop area will be shared with arts and design (product design, fashion design, interior design) and it has facilities and machinery for work in wood, plastic, painting chamber, metal work and also CNC facilities (3D printer, laser cutter and milling machine). The emphasis of the programme will be on digital architecture. Note that RIBA accreditation is only awarded to a university once the first cohort has graduated but University Of Salford does not anticipate any problems as they are in constant liaison with RIBA (and indeed other professional bodies).
Requirements. Students will be required to obtain a minimum 85-90% overall at XII including similar scores in both maths and art and design. Applicants will be assessed for a conditional offer based on X, XI results. Applicants who are not taking both maths and art and design may be interviewed. No portfolio is required. There are fifty (50) seats on this programme so early application is encouraged. This programme has just launched so now is the perfect time to apply.
Scholarships. £1,000 country discount will be applied every year for all students from India.
