Kent State University International Scholarships


The International Freshman Scholarship program is available to any non-immigrant to the United States who is an incoming New Freshman student to Kent State University. This merit-based scholarship may vary in amount awarded to the student.


Admissions Requirements & Eligibility

New freshman only (transfers are not eligible); Fall admission only

Minimum cumulative Secondary school GPA 3.6 on US 4.0 scale

27 ACT Composite,1280 new SAT or 1210 old SAT Critical Reading & Math

The minimum international undergraduate admission requirement on language tests are TOEFL ≥ 71 (ibt) / ≥ 525 (pbt) or IELTS ≥ 6.0.


Application Process

Students will be automatically considered for the scholarship if they apply by the deadline.


Application Deadline

Students must have been admitted to Kent State University by February 15.

Scholarship recipients will be notified of their award in April.

For College of Business Administration

Scholarships (

Kent State University and the College of Business Administration are rested in educating the best and brightest. The college offers a wealth of scholarships that will aid and fund the students in furthering their education. The students should check the expansive list of scholarships offered.

The annual scholarship application deadline is February 1.


For Graduate Student Assistantships )

Kent State University offers both graduate assistantships and teaching fellowships. To be considered for one of these competitive awards, the students will need to include an application for a graduate appointment with their application materials. If selected, then they will receive a tuition waiver and a monthly stipend in return for up to 20 hours of work per week. A teaching or research fellowship offers a full tuition waiver and monthly stipend and allows students to focus exclusively on teaching or research rather than departmental duties.
