About Oklahoma State University Institute of Technology

The first orientation consists of a campus tour and a meeting during the first week of the semester. The campus tour familiarizes students with the campus and introduces them to the staff members providing support services. The meeting is typically 2 hours and provides information on residential life, food options, banking, getting a social security number, transportation, health care resources, counseling services, academic assistance, student clubs and student life on our campus.

The University also discuss how the International Affairs staff works with students to help them succeed and avoid common student problems and pitfalls. The orientation sessions are tailored to meet the needs of each specific group of international students we host.  Depending on cohort size, orientation groups may meet over a series of meetings within the first three weeks of each academic term.

Cultural Opportunities:

The International Affairs office sponsors the Multicultural and International Student Association. This student club takes at least one off-campus trip per month. Activities include,  ice-skating, art museums, the Tulsa Aquarium, rodeos, Native American pow-wows, a Renaissance Fair, and professional sporting events. A variety of on-campus events are held each semester by OSUIT student life, and other student clubs linked to specific areas of study.

In addition, some programs have a limited number of openings each semester and students applying earlier are more likely to gain admission before the program fills up.  If a program is already full for the semeter requested on the application, admission to the program is granted for the next available semester assuming departmental confirmation of admissibility.
